Online travel planning marketplace TravelTriangle looks set to raise $30 million

The online travel planning segment has greatly diversified in recent times, allowing for a whole host of new possibilities and options to be entertained. One such exciting concept is the creation of a single platform for travel agents. This segment is being spearheaded by TravelTriangle- an ecommerce platform which allows travelers to book personalized trips of their choice by connecting them to local travel agents. Set up by IIT alumni Sankalp Agrawal and Sanchit Garg, the startup is looking for success in its plans of  raising $30 million (Rs.201 crore) recently. This will be the Noida-based venture’s third round of fund raising. TravelTriangle itself was set up in 2010.

TravelTriangle allows for the maximum personalization and autonomy of choice for users, by allowing them to get deals and offers from 3 agents regarding each trip. These agents will then help the user chalk out every last detail of his trip, accommodating changes or last-minute details. The largest possible number of travel destinations is made available by TrainTriangle. These include destinations in India and abroad. Some of the featured travel destinations abroad include Thailand, Greece, Singapore, Dubai and New Zealand. Exciting packages clubbing together a number of destinations located within close proximity of each other are also available. At each step, the emphasis is on affordability, convenience and user comfort.


Currently, over 450 local travel agents are a part of the TravelTriangle network. This latest round of funding is all set to cause this number to grow. It also comes on the back of the raising of $8 million-about Rs. 53 crore-by the company from Bessemer ventures in April 2015. The travel segment has seen a lot of funding and expansion-related activity of late. This includes Tripoto’s raising of funding from a batch of investors, and Ctrip’s investment in  Indian tourists thus have an exciting year ahead.
