Intel launches it new gen of core processors for Desktop, Laptop and Servers based on its latest 14nm technology (codename: Skylake) earlier this month in Gamescon held in Germany between 5th-9th August 2015.
Intel states that, Skylake is its “most significant processor” for a decade, due to the enhanced power efficiency and wire-free capabilities.
It is designed with a 14 nanometer manufacturing technology and is fabricated on LGA 1151 socket. Intel has announced to start with Core i7-6700K and core i5-6600K in Aug’15 and Sep’15 for rest of the processor family.
Intel’s skylake processors are focused on wire-free computing and is based on new circuit design and promises significant increase in performance, battery life and power efficiency with 91W of TDP and supporting with DDR4 of 2133MHz for the first time .
Below is the difference between the Hashwell and Skylake processors family from Intel:
Major PC manufacturers have started shipments for skylake processor based PCs which is expected to get in Indian market by Q4 of this year.
