VISIT healthcare app raises seed funding from MapmyIndia

Delhi: VISIT, a Delhi-based startup, that provides on-demand health care services, has raised seed funding from MapmyIndia. MapmyIndia is a marquee technology company established out of New Delhi. The startup plans to use this amount for further technology improvement being used in the app.

Vaibhav Singh, the co-founder of VISIT said, “With the new funding, we plan on investing heavily in improving our technology. We are also aiming at increasing the number of doctors on the app to 500 over the next 3 months. The vision is to bring m-Health to a billion Indians over the next 5 years. No matter where you are you should have access to quality healthcare at just a tap.”

For the support of this mission, Rohan, the CTO and Director of MapmyIndia said “We have been in search of supporting a team whose mission was to make quality health care easily available to everyone and who had the capability to execute on this mission. In VISIT, we found both and are extremely excited to support them achieve their mission.”

The thought for the healthcare app was envisaged when the four graduates from BITS Pilani- Anurag Prasad, Chetan Anand, Vaibhav Singh and Shashvat Tripathi felt that such service was necessary to be provided in the BITS Pilani campus as it was located in the remote area and found really inconvenient for accessing quality health care service.

VISIT intends to prevent any kind of friction in the delivery of the health care service today such as booking an OPD appointment, inability to get in-house doctor VISITs or in-clinic waiting. They help in avoiding such kind of problems by connecting the patients and the doctors anytime and anywhere through their smartphones or computers. This puts the convenience to both the parties with the feature of text-a-doctor service. The patients can enquire any further information from the doctors through a text message. If any treatment is required, the feature of the app, “Q” helps connect the patient to the doctor who can send prescriptions and order lab tests.

Anurag Prasad, co-founder of VISIT, also adds “Q is designed to be a health-based Q&A platform that works with a personal conversation between you and your physician. It’s an easy way to get a first opinion from a doctor, especially for mothers with children’s health questions.”

The app also features with patient requests “VISIT”; the specialists can connect over the video within 30 minutes and can treat the problems of the patients with their expertise through smartphone or computers.

When it comes to the specialists associated, Chetan Anand, Co-founder of VISIT says “We make sure that the empanelment of doctors is carried out through a strict verification process thereby providing a reliable service to our customers. On an average only 1 out of 5 doctors makes it through our stringent quality checks”.
