IRCTC has introduced a new application ‘IRCTC Air’ that enables the passengers to book air tickets conveniently. This app is available on the Google play store. It offers 24/7 services with the high possibility of low fares for air tickets. This app is helpful for the domestic as well as international traveling passengers as it enables both types of bookings. IRCTC also declared the last month that the waitlisted passengers would be able to upgrade their air India tickets if they are available at some extra amount of cost.

CHARGES

The users can use the same login credentials for logging in the app. The app has eliminated the processing fee which enables the passengers to book tickets at lower rates.  INR 10 per booking is charged if the passenger books his ticket through net banking. When a booking is done using the credit cards, the passenger will be charged 1.8 %of the total fare. Various wallets are connected with the app for convenience in payment making such as ItzCash, Beam Cash Card, OxiCash, etc.

THE APP BENEFITS

The app also ensures the refund amount of canceled tickets within one month of cancellation. It also ensures that the cancellation charges are minimal for the convenience of the customers.

To this statement, the chairman and managing director if IRCTC, Dr. A.K. Manocha says that they were taking a forward step towards building and establishing an android app for a better facility to users on their mobiles. He ensures a fast server and says that the tickets can be booked by the domestic as well as the international passengers at any place and at any time. Thus, the app expects a huge crowd due to services related to domestic and international flights and the convenience of the passengers in logging in as they can use the already set login credentials.

It says that it would go head on with the other companies into this sector like MakeMyTrip, Cleartrip, and Yatra.
