After the tragic farewell of Galaxy Note S7, it was tipped that next flagship, Galaxy S8 will take place of S7.  No! not it catching fire, but a place in the market for sale. Galaxy S8 is a rumored device which came into rumor after the exit of Note S7.

S8 to sport an edge-to-edge display

One of The Investor members reported that the new device may  sport an edge-to-edge OLED display. This display will have a high screen-to-body ratio.  Further, Park Won-sang, engineer of Samsung’s display making unit told the Investor, “Samsung Display would roll out a full-screen display whose display area ratio (a scale that measures space taken up by a display on the front part of a handset) reaches more than 90 percent next year.”

He demonstrated a concept image of Galaxy S7 Edge in which no home button was present. He explained that in such design, all the sensors, such as Fingerprint Sensor will be placed beneath the display.

But Xiaomi is already in the game.  A few days back, Xiaomi launched Mi MIX , having a 91.3 % screen-to-body ratio. the feature that caught eyes was almost bezel-less design, including of removal of the top bezel. Other than that, various sensors like proximity sensor, earpiece and camera placed below the display.

Rumors suggested that the Galaxy S8 will have Snapdragon 830 or Exynos 8895 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM. Also not to forget about the OLED based 5.5-inch display capable of playing 4K resolution videos. The device is said to be revealed to the public at MWC 2017.

Tis time Samsung is serious about their products, especially design. Will they be able to prevent the disaster that Note S7 caused, from occurring on this new device?
