In august this year, HTC said that HTC 10 will be the first smartphone to receive Android Nougat 7.0. It will come with HTC Sense UI over it. Previously, HTC said that update will not reach users by Q4. But unlocked devices are getting it from Friday itself*.
The company’s Vice President of Product Management, Mo Versi announced, on the occasion of Thanksgiving day, this device will receive the Nougat Update!
Here is what he said yesterday:
“Happy Thanksgiving! HTC 10 unlocked owners will receive Nougat OS update tomorrow morning! Enjoy!”
This update may be globally rollout. This is because Versi didn’t mention any particular region for the rollout.
With this, HTC’s One M9 and One A9, are the next devices to receive the update.
However, the company didn’t keep the promise it did back in March. After A9 was launched, the company “strongly” claimed that it will release the new updates “within 15 days” after Google launches it for Its Nexus devices!
