Delhi International Airport (Pvt) Ltd (DIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Group, today announced that it has launched India’s first airport e-Shopping platform – to improve the experience of airport shopping among the domestic travelers.
The domestic travelers now can pre-order wide range of products of their choice online from India’s largest airport retail offering from the comfort of their whereabouts. Through this online shopping portal, now travelers have access to over 20 categories of products such as Beauty, Confectionary, Fashion, Souvenirs, Pens etc. sold across Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 domestic outlets.
Products can be searched and chosen from the menu listed under the terminal, category, subcategory or outlet. Travelers can collect their pre-ordered items from respective outlets by making the payment through cash or card.
With this unique facility in place, one can book product(s) of his choice from 30 days up to 12 hours before his flight in three simple steps – Click-Pick-Fly.

Commenting on the development, I Prabhakara Rao, CEO, DIAL, said that they have designed and launched the online shopping portal – website – in a bid to give their valued travelers a new shopping experience at the airport. This is yet another step towards Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Digital India’.
The online shopping portal is a platform for the smart and savvy travelers to purchase the wide range of products available at the airport without any hassle. This arrangement will benefit passengers in a big way as they will have access to exciting online deals, special offers and also fast track delivery upon reaching the respective outlet at the airport.
Travelers can expect exciting offers and benefits being extended for their online shopping. These include the discount on select products, home delivery of purchased products, and sale of exclusive goods, which are not available in the outer market among others. Besides, DIAL will soon extend the online shopping facility to the international travelers as well.
Shopflydel.in creates a niche market for Delhi Airport in the e-commerce space. Today more than 70% of passengers traveling through Delhi Airport use smartphones. Will soon add more travelers’ friendly features and value added services to this first-of-its-kind interactive airport shopping portal for travelers, he added.
The URL of the portal also has been integrated with Delhi Airport website to enhance the visibility of the new facility among travelers. On visiting the Delhi Airport portal they see a banner/ link that takes the passengers to the new e-shopping page.
Once pre-ordered online, confirmation of booking of any product will be delivered to customers through an e-mail.
DIAL has been actively promoting various digital initiatives at Delhi Airport with an intention to leverage technology for passenger experience and operational efficiency. These include- Self check-in kiosks at the airport, self-bag drop facility, mobile app-flyDEL, flap gates and Mobile Data Offloading facility among several others.
