We have plenty of Cloud Storage companies around, providing to us to save our stuff on the cloud. Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox are most popular out of them.
Recently, Dropbox announced one of a new feature to their Android Mobile app. This is the most requested feature by the users to the firm. This is the feature of adding an offline folder to the app, which users can use when not connected to the internet.
However, this feature is only available to premium users. It means it will be available to the app’s Pro, Business and Enterprise users only. For now, this will only be coming for Android App. In the case of iOS app, it is scheduled to come early next year.
The firm mentions that offline folder feature is the most requesting feature by the users, on their blog. With offline folders, a user can sync entire folder to phone or tablet, running on Android, instead of selecting every single file.
Any change done to the offline folder will get synced to the server once the device is online.
However, the firm is late to add the feature. Google Drive and OneDrive have the feature from quite a long time.
“Mobile offline folders not only help minimize downtime during commutes and traveling days, they also make it easier for admins to communicate with the entire team. Now, everyone in the office and in the field can stay on the same page and know they’re working with the latest documents,” mentions the firm in a blog post.
To make a folder offline, Android users need to browse to the folder, they want to view offline. Then on the right side of the folder’s name tap on the down arrow. Then turn the toggle on, to make the folder offline.
Once offline, Android users can access it anytime!
