Like every other year, this year too Samsung is expected to refresh its Galaxy A series. In the past years, they released the device at end of December. With that history, this year to the launch date should be similar. In most cases when a device nears the launch date many rumors and leaks comes up. But here, in this case of  the Galaxy A5, the whole device was leaked on to a YouTube video. Furthermore, with official render leaks the video now looks to be real.

It can be pretty much true that the device in the video is actually a prototype of the A5 2017. And with that, we have some interesting information on the device. The phone is featuring a 2.5D curved display at the front along with the home button which will have a inbuilt fingerprint scanner. Moreover, the display is a 5.2-inch super AMOLED display which sports 1080p resolution.

Now coming to the hardware, Galaxy A5 2017 has a Exynos 7880 octa-core processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM.  In the camera section, this phone has a 16 MP rear camera. Interestingly, the front camera of the device is for the selfie lovers and features a 16 MP camera as well. Other than this, the Galaxy A5 2017 also has 32 GB of internal storage and MicroSD card support.

The device runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and it has Samsung’s latest Grace UX. The device is expected to get the Android Nougat update as well in sometime. The phone also has a USB type-C port rather than the micro USB one. Furthermore, it also has the always on display which shows the date and time of the device when it locked. It is quite unusual as the always on display was something that only Samsung’s flagship devices offered in the past.

Well, as of now this is all that we know about the device and as we say every time, take this with a grain of salt. Because, it can be a old prototype and in the recent versions there could be more changes.
