Tomorrow is going to be an exciting day for Pokemon fans in India. Finally, after a long wait, Pokemon Go will be launching tomorrow in India. The app which went into the news after going viral is finally coming. The game originally came out in only a few countries. Thus, many fans of the game downloaded it applying some tricks. Basically, to defend all this sideloading, the developers selectively blocked the servers from India to stop people from using the app.
Other than the official launch, Niantic has also partnered with Reliance Jio. And with that, the official stores of Reliance Digital Stores and Jio shops will be Gym’s or Pokestops. For Indian users, the game will go live from Wednessday for both iOS and Android users. Here is what Niantic’s CEO John Hanke said:
We are delighted to partner with Jio to launch Pokémon GO in India. It’s exciting to see Pokémon fans in India step out and explore their neighbourhoods in search of Pokémon and Jio’s disruptive high speed 4G LTE Network will be an excellent way to experience the game.
Moreover, all users will also get a Pokemon Go channel exclusively on the Jio Chat app. Here players will be able to chat, chat, collaborate and get daily tips. Furthermore, it will help them to know more about contests and to keep contact with other players.
Also, take a look on what Mathew Oommen, President Reliance Jio said on their partnership with Niantic:
With over 500 million downloads globally, we are excited to launch Pokémon GO officially in India on the Reliance Jio network. Our partnership with Niantic not only brings access to the Pokémon GO app but also opens the door to more opportunities for our customers to enjoy content on Jio’s one-of-a-kind mobile broadband network.
Just to remind you, Jio has made it’s services completely free till March, 2017. So without thinking anything about data charges you will be able to play the game for free.
