Qualcomm 205 SoC Mobile Platform 2017
Qualcomm 205 SoC mobile platform initiative by global mobile chip giant Qualcomm has come with a welcoming news to emerging mobile markets. The company is now targeting to the basic phones integrated with 4G VoLTE capabilities.
The aim behind the idea is to produce more 4G VoLTE capable devices under the small budget (roughly $50). The company is focusing especially for the consumers in India, Latin America, and South East Asia.
The spotlight in Qualcomm 205 SoC is support for LTE Cat 4. Modem with 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload speed. Recently the success of Nokia 3310 2017 edition proved that the basic phones are still not faded out from the mobile market.
There are people who still like basic phones, and adding 4G VoLTE to this will be a cherry on the cake to these customers. And Qualcomm does understand this very well.

The Qualcomm 205 Mobile Platform is designed for OEMs and ODMs that service consumers who may otherwise be unable to gain access to high quality, affordable, reliable mobile devices.
Main Features of Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 SoC
The new Qualcomm 205 SoC to support connectivity for 3G, 2G and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n network services. Bluetooth 4.1, Dual Sim, ANT+, and FM Radio are also included. Qualcomm 205 a dual-core processor clocked at 1.1 Ghz. This can support up to 3 megapixel rear and front cameras, and supports a 480p VGA display which is more than enough for a basic phone. It will also support to a Linux-based operating system and HD video streaming.
Currently, the Qualcomm 205 SoC platform is open for OEMs. Consumers may get their first device powered by Qualcomm 205 by mid-2017. This processer will again come under the company branding of Snapdragon 200 series
