Previously this year, we saw Samsung launching its new Galaxy A series devices in Russia, ahead of CES 2017. Those devices are A5 & A7. Now, on Monday, Samsung launched the same devices in Indian Market. The two color variants – Black Sky & Gold Sand colors will be available.
The two devices are on pre-booking from Samsung Online stores and retail stores as well, whereas the sale will start from March 15.
The new Galaxy A series – A5 & A7
The two devices – A5 & A7 are the new addition to Samsung’s popular A series. The A5 is priced for ₹28,990 whereas its elder brother, A7 is priced at ₹33,490.
The slightest difference between the two smartphones is the display. A5 sports 5.2-inch screen whereas A7 sports 5.7-inch display.
As for specifications, both devices are quite similar in specs. What is more interesting in these two devices are – IP68 water & dust resistant certifications, low-light optimization for better low light images. They also got a simplified camera UI and a food mode.
Both A5 & A7 include Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920p. Both devices have VoLTE, same sensors – a barometer, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
These two devices run on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and have 32GB of onboard storage. Not only this, both the devices also support memory expansion up to 256GB. It also has a fingerprint scanner (beneath the Home button), Always On Display, USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm Jack, & Samsung Pay.
Both smartphones run on 1.9GHz Octa-Core processors with 3GB RAM & sports 16-megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f/1.9. The front camera is of 16-megapixel with aperture f/1.9.
As per as battery is concerned, A5 sports a 3000mAh battery whereas A7 sports a 3600mAh battery.
