Today, in an official tweet, Samsung India tweets that Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus will launch in India on Wednesday, 19th April. But to be precise and clear, pre-registration of both the devices are already up. Till now, Samsung has kept the price a secret.

Samsung launching Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus in India!

Something is going to be same with both these devices, as with previous devices. Both these devices will be Exynos variants, not Snapdragon, as Snapdragon is limited to the USA only. Not an issue, as Exynos, performs very well as compared to Snapdragon in many areas. Both these devices will come with Exynos 8895 SoC.

About prices, I already said that this is a secret till now. Soon after the launch, Verizon priced S8 for $720-$750 & $840-$850 for S8 Plus. We hope that prices must touch with that of Verizon’s or a little bit less.

For Samsung, after Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, S8 is the only hope for retrieving them from point of no return. Fo them, these smartphones will bring “a new era”. S8 & S8 plus will be the first phones to bring company’s own AI – Bixby. This will, for sure, increase the competition between Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa & Cortana. For the AI to work, Samsung is bringing some pre-installed Apps to make Bixby work. But for now, the AI will be missing during global launch on April 21 and may come back with future OS updates.

Some of the highlight features of S8 & S8 Plus, other than Bixby, are Iris Scanner -according to the company is fast & secure, Samsung DeX – a feature which makes your phone a pocket PC on the go, similar to Microsoft’s Continuum. Over that, both the devices will be IP68 certified dust & water resistant. Both the devices will come with all new TouchWiz Home…..umm sorry…..brand new Samsung’s Dream UI – running on Android Nougat 7.0.
