Today, Twitter has announced that they will be integrating live streaming directly into their core app. Earlier, to live stream someone or to broadcast live users had to download Periscope app separately. But now, Twitter is finally making it easier for users integrating periscope within the app. The change will be live on Android and iOS devices in some time.
For those unaware, Periscope is a company which Twitter acquired 2 years back. Using it one can simply watch live streams around the world. Also, the app can broadcast live videos. As Twitter does not have live video streaming within their app so earlier one had to download this separately.
Here is what Twitter said about Periscope Integration in a blog post:
Starting today, you can create and Tweet live video from the Twitter app, powered by Periscope. To go live, compose a Tweet, then tap ‘LIVE’ which brings you to pre-broadcast screen where you can frame your shot. When you’re ready, press ‘Go Live’ to start broadcasting.
From the last couple of months, users were already able to see live broadcasts through the Twitter app itself. But to live broadcast themselves they had to download the app. But now it is a lot easier and you need no companion apps. Have you updated the twitter app? If you have not yet done it head over the links below.
