Facebook launched its Messenger app along with its official app on Windows 10 platform back in March, this year. At that time, the app was very basic and only chatting was available to the public.

 

Windows 10 version of the app gets the update!

Facebook, after launching the app back in March, didn’t give the most important feature. Yes, the calling feature. Even though many times, due to a bug in the app itself, showed the calling button but got vanished each and every time, whenever we tapped on it. But today, after so many days of the launch, Facebook finally added the ‘permanent’ calling button, that too both video and voice calling.

The app is quite similar to its Android and iOS counterpart.After all the app is a ported one! The call button turns green when a call is going on. But still, we cannot set reminders in the app, as the iOS version do.

A spokesperson told to Venture Beats that the feature started rolling out earlier this month.

Unlike the mobile versions of the app, desktop version received the ability to mute the video call and capture video.

The spokesperson also said that the user will get an option to send a voicemail to a person who isn’t online at that time. And as usual, the users are asked to rate to call as if don on the operator customer care.

Earlier this year, group voice calling was introduced in the app with which we could call 50 people at a time. For now, only voice calling is working whereas video calling is still not in a working condition yet.

The Messenger (beta) for Windows 10 Mobile might also get the feature.
