Microsoft today announced that soon Microsoft Wallet will be officially supporting Masterpass. For those who don’t know, Microsoft Wallet is available on Windows 10 Mobile devices for some time. Mostly it is similar to Google Wallet and it can be used for transactions without actually using a credit card. With Microsoft Wallet, you simply tap your phone on a contactless payment terminal, and your default credit or debit card is charged. Besides, it is even more secure as it doesn’t store your card number.
Here are some features with Masterpass integration for Microsoft Wallet:
Masterpass already comes with many layers of security and it also has EMV standard encryption. Moreover, with Microsoft Wallet, users will be able to get Windows Hello technology which is even more secure.
Across the world, Masterpass is being used today by many merchants to accept secure payments. This partnership will enable Microsoft Wallet to reach a growing network of online merchants in a simple and secure way.
Any Windows 10 Mobile device user with support for Tap to Pay will be able to use it. However, it is still unknown when the feature will come to Microsoft Wallet. But as it is already announced it should come soon. Till then have a look at this video showing Masterpass in action:
