Funding update

The year 2016 is gearing up to be a great one for e-commerce marketplaces. E-commerce enabler KartRocket recently raised USD 6 million(Rs. 40.5 crore) in funding led by Bertelsmann India Investments (BII). Among other participants in this round were existing investors Nirvana Digital India Fund, Nirvana Digital Investment Holding Co. Ltd, US-based 500 Start-Ups and Singapore’s Beenext.

About KartRocket’s services

The Delhi-based startup, which is headed by Saahil Goel, caters primarily to SME players, and enables merchants to go online under their own brand. It provides a significant amount of support to every startup-facilitating maximum personalization, easy API integration, good support during setup, and ensures easy login. Over 100 design template options are available for merchants, all of which are geared towards allowing merchants to create a strong, all-round platform. It also ensures integration of merchants with leading B2C matketplaces and offers promotion tools.
Another of KartRocket’s USPs is its streamlining of shipping and logistical services, with shipping orders being processed easily. Shipping notifications are easily available, and these rules can be applied easily via the KartRocket admin panel. Prepaid freight billing also allows merchants to recharge only after product stocks have been exhausted.
KartRocket was launched keeping in mind the need to integrate small merchants into the e-commerce ecosystem. Currently, the platform has over 7,500 shops and has continued to add 10,000 listings daily. It continues to target the burgeoning “homepreneurs” segment, which consists of over 50 million micro-startups.

Recent achievements, and future prospects

KartRocket has raised a significant amount of funding in recent times. In 2013, it succeeded in raising seed funding from angel investors 5Ideas Startup Superfuel and 500 Startups, and in 2014, it obtained Series A funding from Nirvana Venture Advisors, 500 Startups and Beenos. This exciting concept looks set to have a very bright future in the years to come.
