Xiaomi India just announced the launch of its device RedMi Note 3 on 3-Mar-2016 in an event in capital city New Delhi. Here we at PageSwype brings to you full technical specifications and Hands-on review of this brand new phone.
Display And Build Quality
Redmi Note 3 looks beautiful and premium as soon we open the box. The full-metal unibody doesn’t attract fingerprints and is easy to wipe dust.
5.5-inch full-HD IPS display and a metal rim covering the body. It has a scratch resistant layer on the screen but Xiaomi didn’t stated this anywhere we tried scratching the screen few times but it was clean as it was before.
The volume buttons and power button are placed on the right, and there is a hybrid Dual-SIM tray on left side . On top there is 3.5mm headphone jack , we also have an infrared (IR) blaster. It has standard usb micro port for charging..
It has 5 megapixel front facing camera and On the, back there is a 16-megapixel camera, with a dual-tone dual-LED flash, the fingerprint sensor, and speaker at the bottom.
Processor And Storage
This is the first phone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 SoC worldwide , and has performed at flagship level in many benchmarks stated by Xiaomi at the launch event. It has six cores but is powered by Adreno 510 GPU which is only one step lower than present in latest Snapdragon 820.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will come in two variants with 3 color options . One with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage and the other model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage if your budget is tight. Storage can be expanded by up to 32GB by using a microSD card in hybrid sim slot.
Xiaomi claims that it supports VOLTE for calling which is a plus feature and it supports all LTE bands too and OTG is also compatible.
Software
It comes with MIUI 7 out of the box based on Android Lollipop. It allows the users to customise the look and feel of transition effects and themes. The UI is smooth and has no such lags or issues. The phone has 1.5 GB free on first boot and performed very well while multitasking.
Heating
The metal body does get warm on continuous video playback and when recording videos,or playing heavy games but it doesn’t get too uncomfortable.
Camera
It has 5 megapixel front-facing camera and a 16 mega pixel rear camera. The photos can also be clicked using fingerprint sensor. Selfies turned out to be too good and even enhanced with beautify feature on 🙂 Colour reproduction is good too.
Even in low light it focuses very quickly. Burst mode also works well and swiping left opens many filters such as mosiac red eye indigo.
Camera samples are coming soon in another post.
Battery
4050mAh non removal battery manages us to get a full day backup easily without using battery saver profiles. it gives sot of around 9-10 hours on heavy usage.
The phone supports Quick Charge feature, which made the Redmi Note 3 to charge from 40-100% in around 1.5 hours which is not so quick But yes don’t forget it comes with huge 4050 mah battery 🙂
Summing up
There are no faults as such in the device and it packs fullmetal unibody with a fingerprint scanner too in this range. A great display, quick charging, powerful processor and a good camera is more than enough with this price tag. MIUI 7 is latest and most stable build by xiaomi and also it supports 13 indic languages more. And little bugs will improve with further constant updates by xiaomi.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is priced at Rs. 9,999 for 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and Rs.11,999 for 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is very good with these specs.
IF YOU ARE CONFUSED BETWEEN Le1s AND RedMi Note 3, THEN WITH NO DOUBTS WE WOULD SUGGEST TO GO FOR NOTE 3.
