Freedom 251 is the smartphone launched by Ringing Bells and is the cheapest of all the smartphones in the World. The company also crashed due to great response of the customers and prospective buyers. The company claimed that around 30,000 customers had booked the phone in the first batch despite the glitch.
The company also withdrew the product and refunded the payments to customers due to Government close inspection regarding the product and later on manufacturing it.
According to the managing director , Mohit Goel .”Two plants will be set up for Rs. 250 crores each with a capacity of 5 lakh phones. The money will come in the form of debt and equity (1.5:1).” In an earlier interview to IANS, Ringing Bells President Ashok Chadha had said that “Freedom 251” customers will be required to make payment only when the smartphone is delivered to them.
