LeEco Le 1s Eco vs. Lenovo Vibe K5 Note – value for your money?
LeEco introduced its ecosystem model with the launch of the Le 1s Eco. This phone has taken the world of budget smartphones by a storm which is highly creditable for a newcomer like LeEco especially since the budget smartphone market is a highly competitive one. Needless to say, there are several new smartphone models being launched every month that aim to grab market share away from the well-entrenched brands in this segment. Lenovo’s latest offering, the Vibe K5 Note is one such new entrant. When compared head-to-head with the Le 1s Eco, which one comes out looking better? Let’s find out …
Le 1s Eco Advantage
Powered by the incredible 1.85 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 Octa-core processor, the Le 1s Eco is a force to be reckoned with. The processor ensures that the user’s multimedia viewing experience is better than the best. This budget smartphone has been released under the “Made for India” venture by LeEco and flaunts a superior crafted metal body that is made of aircraft-grade aluminum. The superphone boasts a stunning and sleek design with a thickness of just 7.6mm. The 5.5-inch screen flaunts FHD IPS in cell display with 403ppi. It also has the top-of-the-line technology in the form of a 3000mAh battery, Le Touch fingerprint sensor, and the new type-C reversible connector for quick charging through which users can enjoy 3.5 hours of talk time in just 5 minutes of charging.
For photography enthusiasts, this superphone comes with sharp-shooting 13MP (rear) and 5MP (front-facing) camera. The stunning 3GB RAM/32GB ROM combination delivers fast-paced and powerful performance without any glitches. Another key USP of this power device is the 1-year free Supertainment membership that includes access to Eros Intl., Yupp TV, etc., and 5TB of Le Cloud storage worth Rs 4,900.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Note Offerings
Lenovo’s latest offering, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-inch IPS screen that has FHD and 401ppi, the K5 also offers an octa-core processor. However, the chipset is a MediaTek 6755 processor with Mali 1860 MP2 instead. The battery used in this smartphone is a marginally better 3500mAh one, but without the coveted Quick Charge technology.
The Lenovo K5 Note has a metal body and comes with a fingerprint sensor, Native TheaterMax Technology Support with Dolby Atmos Sound, and audio powered by Wolfson WM8281 Audio Codec. It is available in 3GB/32GB and 4GB/32GB variants.
Which one is the better buy?
Lenovo Vibe K5 Note comes with 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded by up to 128GB via microSD card, which is not the case with the LeEco 1s Eco. The Helio X10 processor in the Le 1s Eco supports much better performance as compared to the processor in the K5. Furthermore, the Le 1s Eco comes with a bundle of additional perks such as access to over 3000 movies powered by EROS entertainment, 100+ live channels by YUPP TV, and 5TB of Le Cloud space for storage. While the Le 1s Eco retails at an affordable Rs 9,999 (under the 10k mark), the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note retails at a little higher Rs 11,999 (3GB/32GB) or Rs 13,499 (4GB/32GB). So in the overall terms, Le 1s Eco has a slight edge over its newly launched rival!
