Huawei’s sub-brand Honor finally launched Honor 8 at a press event in New Delhi, India. The device will be available for a price of Rupees 29,999. Honor 8 is the newest flagship device of Honor and it sports attractive specs. But which catches the eyes of everyone is the dual camera setup.
Just like the Huawei P9, Honor 8 also features a 12 MP dual camera lens. One of the 12 MP lenses is an RGB sensor while the other one is a Monochrome sensor. Both of them combined, takes clear and sharp pictures with great color accuracy and more details. There’s also an improvement in low light photography as the monochrome sensor lets pass more light through it. Moreover, there’s also a built-in dual ISP which ensures less post processing time, better focus and quick shots.
To add more, there’s the whole bunch of other features available in the camera app. Inside all of those ‘Light Trail’ is my personal favorite. This feature lowers the ISO, increases the shutter speeds and takes amazingly beautiful pictures. There’s also a wide aperture mode which does better focusing and post processing. Other than all these, there’s the classic pro mode available too.
Now coming to the design, the device has a dual toned glass back and metal finish which feels very premium. Both the glasses in the front and back are 2.5D arc curved glass. Honor 8 also has a metal frame which adds more beauty to the look. The display in the front is a 5.2-inch Full HD display which has 96% high color gamut. The chipset used in the device is a Kirin 950 SoC which is clocked at 2.3 Ghz. That also comes coupled with 4 GB RAM and Mali T880-MP4 GPU.
There’s also a 8 MP front facing camera, fingerprint scanner and 3000 mAh battery available in the device. Honor 8 also has fast charging feature and it can be changed from 0% to 47% in just 30 mins. For connectivity, there’s WiFI AC, Bluetooth 4.2, LTE with VoLTE and NFC. In the software part, the device comes with Android Marshmallow (6.0) with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 on top. There’s also an IR blaster on top of the phone. The IR blaster can control around 2.3 lakh devices be it your AC or TV.
The fingerprint scanner of the Honor 8 (located on the back) unlocks the phone in just 0.4 seconds. Also as it a 3D fingerprint scanner it scans in the depth of your finger for better security, This 4th generation fingerprint scanner has an auto learning feature which gets better over time. Moreover, this fingerprint scanner is programmable and using it gallery, camera, and many more apps can be opened.
As we mentioned at the starting the device comes in a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM variant and it will cost Rupees 29,999. The device will be available in all leading online stores as well as in the offline stores. Other than the Honor 8, Huawei also introduced Honor 8 Smart and Honor Holly 3 smartphones in this event.
