Well, it has been quite some time since WhatsApp first introduced the calling feature in the app. So far, the experience is good for most peoples. But won’t it be even better if you can place your video calls through WhatsApp? Possibly, this going to be a reality soon. It is now quite clear that WhatsApp has plans to launch video calling feature within the app.
It all started a few days back when WhatsApp updated their beta app for Windows Phone. The video calling feature is available within the WhatsApp Beta app for those who are enlisted in the program. By tapping on the call button users can choose between video and voice call options. As of now, the feature is only available on Windows Phone. We think it will take some time for the feature to come in iOS and Android. There’s no sign of development for the video calling features even as a beta app, so better not to expect any estimated time.
If you are a Windows Phone user you can just simply update your app from the store and enjoy video calls over WhatsApp. But before you call someone, make sure the person also has a Windows Phone and he/she is also using the beta version of the app.
WhatsApp is being used as primary chat application by many and it does the job pretty well. Even the voice calling feature through the app offers ample call quality. If WhatsApp rolls over the video calling soon then its main competitors will be Skype, Google Duo and Facetime. We hope this will come to all of the platforms soon and till then you can follow PageSwype Tech to get all the latest technology news.
