The service will help technology buyers validate the IT asset pricing faster, enable data-driven budget forecasting for IT asset procurements, thus, helping make informed buying decisions.

Based on IDC’s core research and market study methodology, IDC analyzed that today’s technology buyer organizations face high procurement cycle time due to an increase of technology influx, leading to parallel procurement cycles executed by a limited team. Further, with the increase in adoption of new age technologies like Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, the speed of transforming IT infrastructure has also increased which has resulted in complex decision making for the technology buyers. Another dimension that adds to the complexity is the inevitable adoption of emerging technologies like Blockchain, IoT, and Cloud which has increased the number of service providers in the market. The dynamics created by these factors has led to an urgent need for transforming the IT asset buying process.

“Price Pulse is an extension to the IDC Research Advisory Services being offered in India. Initiation of this service in India is also based on numerous requests we received from the CxO to help validate their IT strategy and process in the country”, Says Amit Malhotra, Managing Director, IDC India, and South Asia

Manish Sharma, Principal Consultant, Technology Buyer Advisory & Consulting, IDC India added, “The technology buyer world has seen a dramatic shift over the last 5 years. Not only the ecosystem has become more complex but the pace at which the businesses are shifting their focus on technology is unprecedented to wow the end customers. Hence, it is very important for the enterprises to take swift but data-driven decisions when buying or refreshing technology.”

PricePulse service covers a vast gamut of IT asset categories of enterprise buying – hardware, software and end-user devices. From external storage to endpoint security software, the technology buyers will have access to multiple sub-categories within these IT assets to ensure that the service meets both their strategic as well as tactical needs.
