Why was Worldoo created?

Parenting is a massive challenge in today’s world. Children are often left to their own devices while parents are busy with work. This often causes them to use the internet, or other channels of entertainment in an improper way. Realising this, Mr. Monish Ghatalia created a novel web portal for children, called Worldoo. An edutainment platform, it keeps children busy while parents are away, while enabling them to enjoy childhood to the fullest as well.

About the platform

Worldoo’s principal focus is in enhancing “creative engagement” for students, by creating an online ecosystem. Worldoo wins over kids by calling them “Champs”. Worldoo’s chief aim is to empower champs to discover the world around them. Enticing decorative stars and other pieces of equipment are awarded to the kids online, upon their participation in various age-appropriate games. A number of exciting and interactive cartoons can also be discovered by the champs. In addition, champs are encouraged to participate in subjects of popular interest, and to discover age-appropriate edutainment opportunities being offered by Discovery Channel and Nat Geo, among others.
In June, the platform was launched in Mumbai with great fanfare, with renowned Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan taking the lead. According to Monish, the key challenge faced by the startup was in making the site visually challenging. The Worldoo concept came across as a hugely popular one to most designers, and Monish was able to assemble an expert team which created the hugely entertaining site, besides releasing a mobile app.

Conclusion

Worldoo has already enlisted the aid of a number of hugely relevant television channels, such as Cartoon Network and Nat Geo as well as other entities such as Asian Paints, Pidilite, Sentosa Tourism and Designyard. Worldoo’s excellent approach is likely to attract kids of many ages, and the startup will undoubtedly play a significant role in their development.
