“Edubridge- A Rural and Cooperate Link” says the tagline of Edubridge Learning Pvt. Ltd. It is a mumbai based startup that has gained traction and raised USD 2.5 million in Series A funding. The funding round was lead by Insitor Impact Asia Fund and Acumen Fund.  

Now lets see what does this company provides: It says It offers services to youth in semi-urban and rural areas regarding education and training in order to decrease the number of unemployed youth in the area and avail them a chance to jump start.  It is currently active in six states and have plans to expand to Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar. It has collaborated with Indian as well as MNCs to develop and implement training programs.

The firm was founded by IIM alumni, Girish Singhania and several other professors in end of 2009 and partnering with the India Ministry of Finance’s National Skill Development Corporation and among other government agencies. It should be noted that Edubridge is a portfolio company of the venture capital firm Acumen Fund.

Girish Singhania, founder of EduBridge Learning said, “We also plan to spend on integrating various technological applications into our system, improving accessibility of our services in rural India.”

The startup currently has 60 training centres in the north east, south and western India and claims to have trained 50,000 unemployed youth from rural India over the last five years.
