After reporting about the issues, Apple cited on its repair page that the firm has received the report that only few device are facing this unexpected shutdown issues.

“This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.” is what they added further.

China’s Consumers Association filed this report. The CCA asked the firm to investigate the issue.

This issue bricked the devices, after unexpectedly shutting down and not starting up.

The firm asked the users to visit authorized service center or retail store for its check-up. However, there is a twist! The service center will examine the device before any service and will verify if it’s eligible.

“If you have experienced this issue, please visit an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider and have your device’s serial number checked to confirm eligibility for a battery replacement, free of charge,” notes the company.

Furthermost, if anyone already paid for the issue, will be fully refunded.
